A-1 Drivers Ed is owned and operated by Judy and Jim Dorn and is
located in Franklin, Va. A-1 and its affiliate, A-1 Driving School, also
located in Franklin, have been in continuous operation for more than
20 years.
We pride ourselves on "Doing It Right". Behind the wheel
instruction requires by law that all students drive for 7-50 minute
sessions (no more than one per day) and that they observe another
student for 7-50 minute sessions (no more than one per day).
If your child is receiving less that the required amount of instruction,
it is not only illegal, it is dishonest and unethical! Your child is not
receiving the state mandated training and instruction that is
necessary to make a safe driver. Schools that do not follow the
state mandated guidelines are placing your child in jeopardy. Many
parents simply do not know the law...please call us if you have any
questions!
We teach behind the wheel and classroom instruction to students
from more than 25 public high schools and private academies. We
also have many home schooled students from throughout the area.
Classroom instruction is also available at various locations and
times during the year.

by the Board of Education and the Department of Motor Vehicles
thus providing the highest quality of instruction for all students.
